We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape; 26 And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind. 27 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to bring into being a man wrought from mud. 28 "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him." 29 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 30 Not so Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 The Lord inquired: "Iblis! What is the matter with you that you did not join those who prostrated?" 32 He said: "It does not behove of me to prostrate myself before a human being whom You have created out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud." 33 "Go hence, execrable," (said the Lord), "from this place, 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised. 36 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 37 Until the Day of the time well-known." 38 He said, "My Lord, since You have let me go astray. I shall make the path of error seem alluring to them on the earth and shall mislead them all, 39 Except the chosen ones among Your creatures." 40 Allah said: this is the path leading unto Me straight. 41 over My worshipers you have no authority, except the perverse that follow you. 42 And verily Hell is the place promised unto them all. 43 It has seven gates, and through each gate a portion of them belong. 44
