And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 when he turned to his Sustainer with a heart free of evil, 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 It is falsehood that you desire gods other than Allah! 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 and he turned to their idols and asked them, "Do you eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 he was among Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
