(Muhammad), recall Our servant Job. When he prayed to his Lord saying, "Satan has afflicted me with hardship and torment," 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 And We granted to him his family and also the like of them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to people of understanding, 43 And (it was said unto him): Take in thine hand a branch and smite therewith, and break not thine oath. Lo! We found him steadfast, how excellent a slave! Lo! he was ever turning in repentance (to his Lord). 44 (Muhammad), recall Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, all of whom possessed virtuous hands and clear visions. 45 Indeed, We chose them for an exclusive quality: remembrance of the home [of the Hereafter]. 46 And verily they are with us of the elect of the excellent ones. 47 Recall Ismael, Elisha, and Dhulkifl (Ezekiel) who were all virtuous people. 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 the Gardens of Eden whose gates shall be open to them, 50 in which they will recline, and call for abundant fruit and drink therein. 51 ۞ having beside them well-matched mates of modest gaze." 52 This is what you, [the righteous], are promised for the Day of Account. 53 This is surely Our provision never-ending. 54 This (shall be so); and most surely there is an evil resort for the inordinate ones; 55 Hell! Where they will burn, and worst (indeed) is that place to rest! 56 This is for the criminals – so that they may taste it – boiling hot water and pus. 57 And other torments of similar kind, all together! 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 The followers will say, “In fact, for you! May you not get open space! It is you who brought this calamity upon us!” So what a wretched destination. 60 They will say, "Our Lord, whoever brought this upon us - increase for him double punishment in the Fire." 61 And they will say, "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we used to count among the wicked, 62 Did we take them as an object of mockery, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 Such, behold, will in truth be the [confusion and] mutual wrangling of the people of the fire! 64
