The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 Will pray for death, 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
