Said the Chiefs of the people of Pharaoh: "This is indeed a sorcerer well-versed. 109 who wants to drive you out of your land! " [Said Pharaoh:] "What, then, do you advise?" 110 They answered: "Let him and his brother wait awhile, and send unto all cities heralds 111 “To bring all the expert magicians to you.” 112 And the magicians came unto Fir'awn. They said: surely there is for us a reward if we are the overcomers. 113 Answered [Pharaoh]: "Yes; and verily, you shall be among those who are near unto me." 114 They said, "Moses, will you first throw, or shall we?" 115 He said: Cast. So when they cast, they deceived the people's eyes and frightened them, and they produced a mighty enchantment. 116 Then We inspired Moses, saying, "Throw down your staff." And it immediately swallowed up their false devices. 117 ۞ So the truth was established, and abolished was what they were doing. 118 And thus were they vanquished there and then, and became utterly humiliated. 119 But the sorcerers fell down prostrate in adoration. 120 saying: 'We believe in the Lord of the universe, 121 The Lord of Moses and Aaron. 122 Said Firaun, “You have accepted faith in Him before I gave you permission! This is indeed a grand conspiracy you have plotted in the city, in order to expel its people from it; so now you will come to know!” 123 "Surely, I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, then I will crucify you all." 124 They replied, "We shall surely return to our Lord. 125 You would take revenge on us only because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us.
