The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 So We saved him and all his people, 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 Then We destroyed the others. 172 and rained down upon them a rain [of destruction]: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]! 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
