A company of the former peoples 39 and also a large throng from those of later times. 40 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 41 In fierce hot wind and boiling water, 42 and the shadow of a smoking blaze 43 neither cool nor refreshing. 44 Verily they have been heretofore affluent. 45 and would persist in heinous sinning, 46 ever saying, 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 47 And our forefathers [as well]?" 48 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times. 49 Are going to be assembled on the appointed time of a Day Known. 50 "Then will ye truly,- O ye that go wrong, and treat (Truth) as Falsehood!- 51 "You verily will eat of the trees of Zaqqum. 52 "Then you will fill your bellies therewith, 53 and on top of this you will drink boiling water 54 Drinking the way thirsty camels drink. 55 This shall be their hospitality on the Day of Doom. 56 We created you, why will you not believe! 57 Have you seen sperm? 58 Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator? 59 We have decreed death to you all, and We are not unable, 60 from changing the nature of your existence and bringing you into being [anew] in a manner [as yet] unknown to you. 61 And certainly you know the first growth, why do you not then mind? 62 Tell Me! The seed that you sow in the ground. 63 Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower? 64 Had We wanted, We could have crushed it to bits and you would have been left to lament, 65 (And say:) "We have fallen into debt; 66 Rather, we have been deprived." 67 Have you thought about the water you drink? 68 Is it you who cause it to descend from the clouds, or do We? 69 We could make it brackish, if We pleased; so why do you not acknowledge thanks? 70 And have you seen the fire that you ignite? 71 Is it you that produce the trees for it, or are We the producers? 72 It is We who have made it as a reminder and a means of comfort for the people. 73 Glorify, then, (O Prophet), the name of your Great Lord. 74
