The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Hath there come upon man (ever) any period of time in which he was a thing unremembered? 1 Surely We have created man from a small life-germ uniting (itself): We mean to try him, so We have made him hearing, seeing. 2 We have indeed shown him the way – whether he is grateful or ingrate. 3 Indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers chains and shackles and a blaze. 4 The virtuous shall drink from a cup tempered with camphor water. 5 A spring wherefrom the slaves of Allah will drink, causing it to gush forth abundantly. 6 they who keep their vows and fear a Day whose evil is spread; 7 they give food, for the love of Him, to the needy, the orphan, the captive: 8 Saying: we feed you only for the sake of Allah; we desire not from you any recompense or thanks. 9 We fear the dismal day calamitous from our Lord." 10 God will certainly rescue them from the terror of that day and will meet them with joy and pleasure. 11 And gave them Paradise and silk clothes, as a reward for their patience. 12 Reclining in the (Garden) on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun's (excessive heat) nor (the moon's) excessive cold. 13 The shade thereof is close upon them and the clustered fruits thereof bow down. 14 Rounds of silver cups and silver beakers, looking like glass, will be presented upon them. 15 crystal of silver that they have measured -- very exactly. 16 And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Zanjabil,- 17 from a fountain called Salsabila. 18 ۞ There will circulate among them young boys made eternal. When you see them, you would think them [as beautiful as] scattered pearls. 19 And when you look there [in Paradise], you will see pleasure and great dominion. 20 On their bodies will be garments of the finest green silk and brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give them a purest draught to drink. 21 "Verily this is a Reward for you, and your Endeavour is accepted and recognised." 22
