The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
