And assuredly We have created human being from ringing clay of loam moulded. 26 And the jinn did We create aforetime of essential fire. 27 When your Lord said to the angels: 'See, I am creating a mortal from clay of molded mud. 28 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 Save Iblis. He refused to be among the prostrate. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis! what is your reason for not being among those who prostrated themselves?" 32 "How could I bow," said he, "before a mortal whom You created from fermented clay dried tingling hard?" 33 Said Allah, “Therefore exit from Paradise, for you are an outcast.” 34 And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment. 35 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected." 36 [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved 37 till that Appointed Day." 38 (satan) said: 'My Lord, for Your perverting me, I shall make (matters) in the earth seem most fair to them and I shall pervert all, 39 Except, among them, Your chosen servants." 40 [Allah] said, "This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight. 41 over My servants thou shalt have no authority, except those that follow thee, 42 Gehenna (Hell) will be the promise for all of them. 43 Unto it are seven portals; unto each portal is a portion of them assigned. 44
