Alshu'araa' 9 of 11

[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 Why do you go for males unlike all other creatures 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do. 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 Then We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
