S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Saad* – By oath of the renowned Qur’an, (Alphabet of the Arabic language; Allah and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 Nay, those who desbelieve are in false pride and opposition. 2 How many a generation We destroyed before them, and they cried out when it was no longer the time for escape! 3 And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say: This is an enchanter, a liar. 4 Does he make all the deities out to be one God? This is indeed a strange thing." 5 And their leading chiefs said: "Remain attached to your gods. There is surely some motive behind it. 6 We never heard of it in the former faith. It is surely a fabrication. 7 Has the reminder been revealed to him from among us? Nay! they are in doubt as to My reminder. Nay! they have not yet tasted My chastisement! 8 Or, are with them the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Bestower? 9 Or have they the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all between? If so, let them mount up with the ropes and means (to reach that end)! 10 A defeated host are (all) the factions that are there. 11 Before them there have belied the people of Nuh and the 'Aad, and Fir'awn the owner of the stakes. 12 and [the tribe of] Thamud, and the people of Lot, and the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan]: they all were leagued together, [as it were, in their unbelief:] 13 Each of them who rejected the Messenger become subject to Our punishment. 14
