The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 Living therein for ages. 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 Requital corresponding. 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
