The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Have you considered if he were on the right way, 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
