People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away. 81 They hewed their dwellings out of the mountains in safety. 82 and the Cry seized them in the morning; 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between the two in accordance with the requirements of truth and wisdom. The Hour is surely coming. So overlook [their faults] with gracious forgiveness. 85 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-creator, the All-knowing. 86 And certainly We have given you seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the grand Quran. 87 Do not direct your eyes towards the things We have given to some of their couples to enjoy, and do not at all grieve because of them, and take the Muslims within the folds of your mercy. 88 and say: "Behold, I am indeed the plain warner [promised by God]! 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 Those who broke the Word of Allah into several parts. (Those who broke the Torah / Bible or changed its text – or those who called the Qur’an a fabrication / poetry.) 91 But, by thy Sustainer! [On the Day of Judgment] We shall indeed call them to account, one and all, 92 for what they have done 93 So declare to them what We have enjoined, and turn away from idolaters. 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 Those who ascribe another God along with Allah; so they will soon come to know. 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 But hymn the praise of thy Lord, and be of those who make prostration (unto Him). 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
