۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!" 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 We had no power over you. You were a rebellious people, 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 For we had led you astray. In fact we ourselves were astray." 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 Most surely you will taste the painful punishment. 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 fruits. And they are receivers of generosity 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 upon couches, set face to face, 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 50 One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 Are we not then to die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 The fruit thereof is as though the hoods of the serpents. 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire. 68 They had found their fathers astray, 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 And assuredly many of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And We had sent admonishers to them. 72 See how those who were warned met their end! 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
