The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
