The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
