۞ When the son of Mary is mentioned as an example, your people turn away from it 57 And say: "Are our aliha (gods) better or is he ['Iesa (Jesus)]?" They quoted not the above example except for argument. Nay! But they are a quarrelsome people. [(See VV. 21:97-101) - The Quran.] 58 He is naught but a bondman: him We favoured, and him We made an ensample unto the Children of Israil. 59 And if We willed, We could have made [instead] of you angels succeeding [one another] on the earth. 60 And (Jesus) shall be a Sign (for the coming of) the Hour (of Judgment): therefore have no doubt about the (Hour), but follow ye Me: this is a Straight Way. 61 And let not Satan bar you [from it] - for, verily, he is your open foe! 62 When Jesus came with Clear Signs, he said: "Now have I come to you with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) on which ye dispute: therefore fear Allah and obey me. 63 Lo! Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him. This is a right path. 64 The various factions among them differed -- woe then to those who did wrong: they will suffer the punishment of a painful Day. 65 Do they only wait for the Hour - that it should come on them all of a sudden, while they perceive not? 66 The intimate friends on that Day will be hostile unto one another save the God-fearing. 67
