Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 and that with thy Sustainer is the beginning and the end [of all that exists]; 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
