The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 Created man, 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
