Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed be He in Whose hands is Dominion; and He over all things hath Power;- 1 who created death and life, that He might try you which of you is fairest in works; and He is the All-mighty, the All-forgiving -- 2 Who hath created seven heavens in storeys. Thou shalt not behold in the Compassionate's creation any over-sight; then repeat thy look, beholdest thou any crack? 3 Then return your gaze once more and yet again, your gaze comes back to you dazzled, and tired. 4 We have adorned the lowest sky with lamps, and made them missiles against the devils, for whom We have prepared a torment of most intense fire. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the doom of hell, a hapless journey's end! 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath even as it blazes forth, 7 and wellnigh bursts asunder with rage. As often as a troop is cast into it, its keepers ask them, 'Came there no warner to you?'; 8 They will say, "Yes, someone did come to warn us, but we rejected him saying, 'God has revealed nothing. You are in great error". 9 They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" 10 And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze. 11 Surely those who fear their Lord in the Unseen -- there awaits them forgiveness and a great wage. 12 Whether you conceal what you say or reveal it, God knows best all that the hearts contain. 13 Should not He Who has created know? And He is the Most Kind and Courteous (to His slaves) All-Aware (of everything). 14
