Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the piercing star. 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
