Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! 1 Neither his wealth nor his gains will avail him. 2 He will be plunged in flaming Fire, 3 along with his wife, that carrier of slanderous tales; 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5

God the Almighty always says the truth.
