And when thy Lord called to Moses, 'Go to the people of the evildoers, 10 the nation of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Me' 11 He answered: "O my Sustainer! Behold, I fear that they will give me the lie, 12 "And my breast straitens, and my tongue expresses not well. So send for Harun (Aaron) (to come along with me). 13 They also have a sin against me, and I fear they will slay me.' 14 He said, “Not like this (any more); both of you go with Our signs, We are with you, All Hearing.” 15 Go to the Pharaoh and tell him: 'We bring a message from the Lord of all the worlds 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 [Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life? 18 "And thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)!" 19 He said: I did it then while I was of those unable to see the right course; 20 so I fled from you, fearing you. But my Lord gave me Judgment and made me one of the Envoys. 21 And this is the favour with which you taunt me -- that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Fir'awn said: and what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 He said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between, if ye seek to be convinced. 24 Pharaoh said to those around him, "Did you hear?" 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 26 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Verily, your Messenger who has been sent to you is a madman!" 27 'He is the Lord of the East and the West' said he (Moses), 'and all that is between them, if you could understand' 28 (Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners. 29 Moses said: "Even if I were to bring a Clear Sign to you?" 30 Said he, 'Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.' 31 (No sooner had he said this than) Moses threw down his rod and behold, it was a veritable serpent, 32 Then he drew out his hand, and it was luminous to the onlookers. 33
