And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. 41 'Stamp thy foot! This is a laving-place cool, and a drink.' 42 And We gave him (back) his family, and along with them the like thereof, as a Mercy from Us, and a Reminder for those who understand. 43 "And take in your hand a bundle of thin grass and strike therewith (your wife), and break not your oath. Truly! We found him patient. How excellent (a) slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)! 44 (Muhammad), recall Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, all of whom possessed virtuous hands and clear visions. 45 We chose them for a special [purpose] -- proclaiming the message of the Hereafter: 46 Indeed with Us they are among the chosen, the excellent. 47 And remember Ismail and Yasa’a (Elisha) and Zul-Kifl; and they are all excellent. 48 This is a commemoration. Surely for those who take heed for themselves is an excellent place of return -- 49 Gardens of perpetual residence, whose doors will be opened to them. 50 Reclining on pillows, in it they ask for fruits and drinks in plenty. 51 ۞ and with them maidens restraining their glances of equal age. 52 This it is that ye are promised for the Day of Reckoning. 53 this is Our provision, unto which there is no end.' 54 This (shall be so); and most surely there is an evil resort for the inordinate ones; 55 Hell! Where they will burn, and worst (indeed) is that place to rest! 56 All of this; so let them taste it, boiling water and pus, 57 and, coupled with it, further [suffering] of a similar nature. 58 This is a crowd rushing in along with you; no welcome for them; verily they are to roast in the Fire. 59 They will say nay! it is ye, for whom there is no welcome: it is ye who have brought it upon us. Evil shall be the resting-place. 60 adding, "Our Lord, give double punishment to those who brought this upon us." 61 And they shall say: What is the matter with us that we do not see men whom we used to count among the vicious? 62 Did we take them as an object of mockery, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 Surely that is true -- the disputing of the inhabitants of the Fire. 64
