Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Indubitable! 1 What is the Reality? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37
