The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and gently take it away; 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
