In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Kaf Ha Ya Ain Sad 1 This is an account of your Lord's mercy bestowed upon His servant Zachariah, 2 When he softly prayed to his Lord. 3 saying, 'O my Lord, behold the bones within me are feeble and my head is all aflame with hoariness. And in calling on Thee, my Lord, I have never been hitherto unprosperous. 4 And indeed, I fear the successors after me, and my wife has been barren, so give me from Yourself an heir 5 Inheriting me and inheriting the Children of Ya'qub; and make him, my Lord, acceptable! 6 (His prayer was answered): "O Zakariya! We give thee good news of a son: His name shall be Yahya: on none by that name have We conferred distinction before." 7 He said, 'O my Lord, how shall I have a son, seeing my wife is barren, and I have attained to the declining of old age?' 8 Allah said: even so! Thy Lord saith: it is unto Me easy, whereas surely I created thee afore when thou wast not aught. 9 He said: "O Lord, give me a token." "Though sound," He answered, "you will not talk to any one for three nights running." 10 Then he came forth unto his people from the sanctuary, and signified to them: Glorify your Lord at break of day and fall of night. 11 “O Yahya – hold the Book firmly”; and We gave him Prophethood in his infancy. (Prophet Yahya was only 2 years old at that time.) 12 and tenderness from Us and purity, and he was cautious; 13 and cherishing his parents, not arrogant, rebellious. 14 And Peace be unto him the day he was born and the day he dieth and the day he will be raised up alive. 15
