Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 And cups put in place 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
