The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 and calls the ultimate good a lie 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
