The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 and gathered his people together 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
