And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying God). 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe therein until they behold the torment afflictive. 201 It shall come unto them on a sudden, and they shall not perceive. 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 What! do they still seek to hasten on Our punishment? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 And then cometh that which they were promised, 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 And We destroyed no township but it had its warners 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 And lower thou thy wing unto those who follow thee as believers. 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 and place thy trust in the Almighty, the Dispenser of Grace, 217 who sees you when you stand up [for prayer], 218 And your movements among those who bow in homage to God. 219 He is all-hearing and all-knowing. 220 Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every lying sinner, 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 Have you not seen them wandering and bewildered in every valley 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 Except those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, and remember Allah much, and reply back (in poetry) to the unjust poetry (which the pagan poets utter against the Muslims). And those who do wrong will come to know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
