The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
182 verses, revealed in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those who range themselves in rows; 1 by those who drive away the devil (to protect Our revelation), 2 and the reciters of a Remembrance, 3 Verily, verily, your Allah is one!- 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them and Lord of the sunrises. 5 Surely We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment, the stars, 6 and have protected it from every rebellious satan. 7 The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides 8 Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty, 9 Except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining flame. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 Nay, thou marvellest; and they scoff 12 and, when reminded, do not remember 13 When they see a sign, they laugh at it, 14 And they say: This is nothing but clear magic: 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 16 Or our fathers of yore? 17 Say: 'Yes, and in all lowliness.' 18 For it is only a single scaring, then behold, they are watching 19 And say: Ah, woe for us! This is the Day of Judgment. 20 This is the day of the judgment which you called a lie. 21
