The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 By the angels hastening, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
