The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars fall, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And the close of night, 17 And the breath of morning 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 where then are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
