3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 when he turned to his Sustainer with a heart free of evil, 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 Thereafter they (the people) came to him in haste. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!” 102 Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail) 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 We gave him the glad news of the birth of Isaac, one of the righteous Prophets. 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
