Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
