Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a known term? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead. 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
