The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Quraish (Quraish) before Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Al-Qari'ah (the striking Hour i.e. the Day of Resurrection), 1 What is the Striking? 2 How will you comprehend what the startling calamity is? -- 3 It is the Day when people will be like moths, dispersed, 4 and the mountains shall be like plucked wool-tufts. 5 And then, he whose weight [of good deeds] is heavy in the balance 6 shall live in a life which is pleasing, 7 But as for him whose scales are light, 8 Will have his home in a (bottomless) Pit. 9 What shall let you know what the Plunging is? 10 (It is) a Fire Blazing fiercely! 11
