T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Ta Ha 1 We have not sent the Quran to make you, (Muhammad), miserable, 2 but only as an exhortation to all who stand in awe [of God]: 3 A down-sent from Him who Created the earth and the heavens high. 4 The Most Compassionate Lord is settled on the Throne (of the Universe). 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth, and all that is between them, and all that is under the soil. 6 And if you utter the saying aloud, then surely He knows the secret, and what is yet more hidden. 7 Allah! there is no god but He! To Him belong the most Beautiful Names. 8 And did the news of Moosa reach you? 9 When he saw a fire, he said to his family: 'Stay here, for I can see a fire. Perhaps I can bring you a lighted torch or find at the fire guidance' 10 When he came near the fire he was called, "Moses, 11 I am your Lord. Take off your shoes, for you are in Towa, the sacred valley. 12 and I have chosen thee [to be My apostle]: listen, then, to what is being revealed [unto thee]. 13 Indeed, I am Allah. There is no god except Me. Worship Me, and establish the prayer of My remembrance. 14 Surely the hour is coming-- I am about to make it manifest-- so that every soul may be rewarded as it strives: 15 Let none bar thee from it, that believes not in it but follows after his own caprice, or thou wilt perish. 16 "And what is that in your right hand, O Musa (Moses)?" 17 He said: This is my staff whereon I lean, and wherewith I bear down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses. 18 He said: Cast it down, O Musa! 19 He threw it, and behold! It was a snake, active in motion. 20 He said: Grasp it and fear not. We shall return it to its former state. 21 "Now draw thy hand close to thy side: It shall come forth white (and shining), without harm (or stain),- as another Sign,- 22 for We shall show you some of Our greatest Signs. 23 Go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 24
