The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the sun and its brilliance, 1 By the Moon as she follows him; 2 And by the day as it shows up (the sun's) brightness; 3 by the night when it covers the earth with darkness, 4 Consider the sky and its wondrous make, 5 By the Earth and its (wide) expanse: 6 By the Soul, and the proportion and order given to it; 7 And its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right;- 8 prosperous is he who purified it, 9 and truly lost is he who buries it [in darkness]. 10 The Thamud denied (the truth) in their perverseness 11 when the most corrupt of them incited them (to commit evil). 12 then the Messenger of God said to them, 'The She-camel of God; let her drink!' 13 But they called him a liar and slaughtered her, therefore their Lord crushed them for their sin and levelled them (with the ground). 14 And for Him is no fear of its consequences. 15
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
