Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 Certainly, you have different ideas (about Muhammad SAW and the Quran). 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Woe to the liars 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
