The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 This Book, there is no doubt in it, is a guide to those who guard (against evil). 2 Those who believe in the unseen and keep up prayer and spend out of what We have given them. 3 And who believe in this (Qur’an) which has been sent down upon you, O beloved Prophet, (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) and what was sent down before you; and are certain of the Hereafter. 4 they are the people who are rightly following their Lord and it is they who shall be successful. 5 As for those who have rejected (these things), it is all the same to them whether you warn them or do not warn them: they are not going to believe. 6 Allah has sealed their hearts and their ears, and on their eyes is a covering; and for them is a terrible punishment. 7
