Did the unbelievers (who do not accept the teaching of the Prophet) not realize that the heavens and the earth were one solid mass, then We tore them apart, and We made every living being out of water? Will they, then, not believe (that We created all this)? 30 And We set in the earth firm mountains lest it should shake with them, and We set in it ravines to serve as ways, that haply so they may be guided; 31 and We made the sky a secure canopy; and yet they turn away from these Signs. 32 And He it is Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. They float, each in an orbit. 33 We have not granted everlasting life to any human being before you; then if you [Muhammad] should die, will they live forever? 34 Every soul has to experience the taste of death. We test you with both hardships and blessings. In the end you will all return to Us. 35 And when the disbelievers see you, they do not appoint you except as an object of mockery; “Is he the one who speaks ill of your Gods?”; whereas they deny the remembrance of the Most Gracious Himself! 36 Man is a creature of haste. Soon I will show you My signs, but do not ask Me to hasten them. 37 But they [who reject My messages are wont to] ask, "When is that promise [of God's judgment] to be fulfilled? [Answer this, O you who believe in it,] if you are men of truth!" 38 If only the Unbelievers knew (the time) when they will not be able to ward off the fire from their faces, nor yet from their backs, and (when) no help can reach them! 39 Nay, it (the Fire or the Day of Resurrection) will come upon them all of a sudden and will perplex them, and they will have no power to avert it, nor will they get respite. 40 And indeed the Noble Messengers before you were mocked at, but their mockery ruined the mockers themselves. 41
