Behold, thy Lord called Moses: "Go to the people of iniquity,- 10 the people of Pharaoh, will they not fear God? 11 He said: My Lord! Lo! I fear that they will deny me, 12 "My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron. 13 "And they have a charge of crime against me, and I fear they will kill me." 14 He said: By no means, so go you both with Our signs; surely We are with you, hearing; 15 Go to the Pharaoh and tell him: 'We bring a message from the Lord of all the worlds 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 And yet thou didst commit that [heinous] deed of thine, and [hast thus shown that] thou art one of the ingrate!" 19 He said: I did it then while I was of those unable to see the right course; 20 “I therefore went away from you as I feared you – so my Lord commanded me and appointed me as one of the Noble Messengers.” 21 And that favour wherewith thou didst oblige me was that thou hadst enslaved the Children of Isra'il? 22 Said Firaun, “And what is the Lord Of The Creation? 23 He said, 'The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.' 24 Said he to those about him, 'Do you not hear?' 25 [And Moses] continued: "[He is] your Sustainer, [too,] as well as the Sustainer of your forefathers of old!" 26 The Pharaoh said, "The Messenger who has been sent to you is certainly insane". 27 (Moses) said: "Lord of the East and the West, and all between! if ye only had sense!" 28 Said [Pharaoh]: "Indeed, if thou choose to worship any deity other than me, I shall most certainly throw thee into prison! 29 (Moses) said: "Even if I showed you something clear (and) convincing?" 30 Said Firaun, “Then bring it, if you are of the truthful.” 31 So Moses threw down his staff and suddenly it appeared as a serpent, plainly visible. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it was white unto the beholders. 33
