THUS, INDEED, did We bestow Our favour upon Moses and Aaron; 114 And saved them and their people from great distress, 115 And We succoured them so that they became overcomers. 116 And We gave them both the Book that made (things) clear. 117 And We guided them on the straight path. 118 And We left for them among the later folk (the salutation): 119 "Peace and salutation to Moses and Aaron!" 120 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 121 Surely both of them were among Our believing servants. 122 And verily, Iliyas (Elias) was one of the Messengers. 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not fear Allah? 124 "Will you call upon Ba'l (a well- known idol of his nation whom they used to worship) and forsake the Best of creators, 125 God, your Sustainer and the Sustainer of your forebears of old?" 126 But they cried him lies; so they will be among the arraigned, 127 Except the chosen creatures of God. 128 And we left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 129 Peace be on Elias. 130 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 131 For he was one of our believing Servants. 132 Lot was certainly a Messenger. 133 We rescued him and his whole family, 134 Except an old woman who was among those who lagged behind: 135 Then We utterly destroyed the rest of them. 136 And surely ye pass by them in the morning. 137 and in the night; will you not understand? 138
