And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much. (See the Quran Verse 35:45). 30 And you cannot escape from Allah (i.e. His Punishment) in the earth, and besides Allah you have neither any Wali (guardian or a protector) nor any helper. 31 And of His portents are the ships, like banners on the sea; 32 If He pleases, He causes the wind to become still so that they lie motionless on its back; most surely there are signs in this for every patient, grateful one, 33 He may, while forgiving much of the sins of those that ride these ships, drown them on account of some of their misdeeds. 34 and that those who dispute concerning Our signs may know they have no asylum. 35 Whatever you have received is only for usage in the life of this world, and that which is with Allah is much better and more lasting – for those who believe and rely upon their Lord. 36 And those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, and when they are angry, they forgive, 37 who obey their Lord and establish Prayer; who conduct their affairs by consultation, and spend out of what We have bestowed upon them; 38 and when harmed they become victorious. 39 And the retribution for an evil act is an evil one like it, but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation - his reward is [due] from Allah. Indeed, He does not like wrongdoers. 40 Yet indeed, as for any who defend themselves after having been wronged - no blame whatever attaches to them: 41 The blame is only against those who oppress men and wrong-doing and insolently transgress beyond bounds through the land, defying right and justice: for such there will be a penalty grievous. 42 But he who patiently endures and forgives, that is a conduct of great resolve. 43
