Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They slept little in the night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
