Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In high empyrean 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
